That’s right…Parker’s hair poof is no more. I took him a few days before Thanksgiving for his first hair cut. He looks so grown up now but I love it!
Are you sure this is ok Mom??
Ok…this isn’t too bad ![]()

Around the second or so week of November, Parker started inch worming around but wasn’t really sure how to make the whole crawling thing work. I snapped these November 16th when he started raising up on all fours and rocking. He would also get into a plank position and hold it for the longest time.
Finally on Thanksgiving morning, he woke up and just started crawling. There has been no stopping him now. He is motoring around everywhere and loves to pull up and hold hands to walk. Where has my baby gone?
November 4th, we celebrated Adoption Sunday at our church. Judi Gatson of WIS was the guest speaker and we all enjoyed a great day of celebrating adoption. What a wonderful blessing it has been in our lives and we are so thankful! We appreciate our family coming to support us and for loving Parker so much!
Parker, how are you already 8 months old? You are growing up so fast! You are so sweet and so handsome. You are seriously the happiest baby and hardly ever cry. You are sleeping between 11-12 hours a night, waking up usually between 7:30 and 8 and going to bed between 8 and 8:30. You love your naps and still require two a day, each lasting about two hours. You are taking 4 bottles a day (Enfamil AR), 3 six ounces bottles and 1 eight ounce bottle before bed. You love ALL baby food and eat a jar at breakfast, lunch and supper. You enjoy eating Puffs, Cheesy Poofs & Yogurt Melts too. You got your 5th and 6th teeth (bottom) just recently and within days your 7th and 8th came (top). Now you have the four on the top and on the bottom. You are wearing 12-18 month clothes and size 5 shoes. You weigh about 24 pounds and I don’t know how tall you are but you are definitely taller than most! You have been in size 4 diapers for a couple months now and I think you will be there for a while. Your hair is really coming in now and getting so cute. I love your smiles and your dimples are so sweet. You are playing so well independently and love to sit and play by yourself. You are rolling all over the place and crawling by scooting backwards on your head – craziest thing ever but you seem to get where you want to go. You have brought so much joy to us and we are so very thankful for you!
“Whoever invented this deserves the millions they are making!” I feel like I have said this same exact quote so many times since we have had Parker – video monitor, nap nanny, vinyl bibs, portable DVD players for the car (yes, I am THAT mom) but I am saying it again about the walker. Parker loves it and I love it especially when I am cooking. It keeps him occupied and I love to see him scoot around the kitchen, primarily in reverse.
Can you see his bottom teeth poking through on the sides? Those will make #5 and #6! These pictures were taken October 22 so he is almost 8 months old
I try so hard at staying current on this blog but as hard as I try, I fail! Nevertheless, I will continue to try so this post starts a series of catch up posts. I can’t help but post these pictures from back in mid-October. We were enjoying a great fall afternoon on the screen porch again with our little guy and he was hamming it up as always!
September 27th marked 7 months old….so hard to believe! We are back to sleeping 11-12 hours straight through the night…yay! We have also changed Parker to just four 8 oz bottles a day and that seems to be much more filling. Of course, he is still eating solids but most days we only get in an afternoon and an evening jar. We have introduced him to Puffs now and he thinks those are just great! He did get his 2 center teeth while we were in New York so at the 7 month mark, he had 4 teeth total and it is quite apparent that more are coming very soon on the top. Parker is sitting up very well now by myself and has mastered the high chair and shopping cart. The infant seat is no more since he weighs an impressive 23 pounds…my arms are just not that strong to tote him around. He is wearing 12 month and 12-18 months clothes, just depending on the brand. He is very long but I don’t have an exact length. He is napping twice a day, about two hours a nap. He does not like to be rocked to sleep anymore. He absolutely prefers to just be laid in the crib beside his musical seahorse with his pacifier and blanket and he rolls over without crying and falls asleep. What a precious child! How did we ever get so lucky! We have pretty much retired the swing as well and rely on the nap nanny in the mornings and the walker and froggy exersaucer for later in the day. He still has not made any attempts at crawling but loves to stand up….Parker is so strong! We love to be outside on these beautiful fall days and at night, his favorite thing is to play in mom and dad’s bed and cover his face with our sheet. He is such a delight and his personality is really coming through day by day. You can be quite the ham Parker and we love you!
September 20th, we took off on a big airplane bound for New York to spend a long weekend with Scott’s family. Parker did amazing on the plane! I was so worried prior to traveling but he did great. We had a wonderful time getting to spend time with everyone and Parker sure enjoyed all the attention. We hope to get back up there soon!
