And Surgery is Scheduled….

So today was another busy day in our household.  I had to work for a little while this morning so I ran him to my mom’s for a little while this morning.  Couldn’t resist grabbing a pic of my sweet one month old before we left the house today.

We met up for lunch before our appointment at Moore Ortho where we got our fifth cast, a beautiful royal blue one.

As soon as they sawed off his sweet baby boy cast, they took one look at his foot and said he was ready for surgery.  So, Monday at 8am you can find us at The Children’s Hospital where we will be praying for God’s hand to be covering our son as he undergoes his operation.  They will be doing his procedure under general anesthesia to release his heel cord and while he is already under, we are going to go ahead and take off his little skin tag on his hand.  The doctors said he shouldn’t be back there but about an hour but a lot of that time will be recasting and fitting him for his braces; actual surgery time should only be about ten minutes.  We hope to stay only one night, mainly so they can observe Parker to make sure he does ok waking up, eating again, etc.  Please pray for Parker that he will be as patient as he always is and that God will hold him and us and we go through us.  Please pray for the doctors and nurses and that God will use us for His glory during our time at the hospital to all those we come in contact with.

Check out how strong Parker is getting.  He really lifts his neck a lot and moves it around more than I thought he would be at this age.  Everyone says he is a strong little boy.

Thank you God for placing the right little boy into our family.  I cannot imagine my life without Parker and I am so thankful that God wrote the story he did for us.

Parker is 1 month old!

Can you believe I am already 1 month old?  I am really growing!  My days are filled mostly with sleep with some play time in between for about an hour or two at a time, maybe 2-3 times a day.  I eat 4 ounces of formula at every feeding (can’t you tell Smile) and I am growing like a weed says my Mammy.  I met my new cousin Reece last week and I love playing with Van and Kyleigh.  Louie is my buddy and my Mom and Dad are pretty cool too.  Ganma and Big Daddy spoil me and so do my aunts and uncles and all my other family!  I am a really loved little boy!

Sunday School Shower

The girls from my Sunday School class threw us the sweetest shower yesterday and I forgot to take my camera!  These ladies are so talented too so I really wish I would have captured their cute handmade diaper wreaths, diaper cakes, ribbon door wreath, precious onesie cupcakes with a “P” initial and all the other cute cute things!

We were showered with so many wonderful things and we are so grateful!  Parker is one blessed little boy to be loved by so many.  Thank you all so much for loving on us the way you do!

Born to be a Gamecock!

Scott and I took Parker to his first Gamecock event Wednesday and he loved it so much, he slept through the entire thing!  We went to the SC vs. Wofford baseball game and stayed for about 3 innings, long enough to snag a photo with Cocky!

March 21cropped

I am sure this is the first of many to come!  We had a great night and can’t wait to take Parker to many more in the future!

Lots of good progress on our little foot!

Parker got a great report Wednesday at the ortho!  Our goal with the serial casting was to get to 70 degress out before we did the surgery to release his heel cord and Wednesday he was already at 45 degrees out without any pressure.  That is AMAZING considering he had only had 3 casts up until that appointment and they thought it would take about 6.  If you are keeping up, our casts have been 1. white 2. red 3. bright green and now 4. baby blue.

So with all this progress, that means our surgery will be sooner than later.  The doctors think this beautiful little sweet blue cast may be our last one that he wears an entire week.  When we go Wednesday (March 28th), they will take this one off and evaluate where he is at that time.  If they think he is ready, they will recast him and schedule surgery at The Children’s Hospital for the day or so afterwards which means the end of this week.  He would have to get a new cast at our ortho appointment Wednesday because he will go into surgery with a cast and they will cut it off right before the procedure because any time out of the cast could be time that he regresses.  The surgery is general anesthesia (prayers for mommy and daddy are much appreciated!) and since he will only be 4-5 weeks old, we will probably end up staying overnight just so they can make sure he will do ok waking up from the anesthesia.  The surgery itself should take about 5 minutes but we are also having his tiny skin tag removed on his hand so that will probably add only another 2-3 minutes.  If the ortho looks at him Wednesday and thinks he needs one more full week in a cast, then we will do everything one week later but they said no more than that because he is making leaps and bounds.  Daddy says Parker is a little rockstar!

Mommy’s Best Birthday Present Ever!

Yesterday, St. Patrick’s Day, was my birthday and I can say that it was honestly the best birthday I have ever had because I had the best little present in the whole world!  Scott invited some friends and family together for a yummy dinner at Red Bowl and we had a great time of fellowship.  I am looking forward to celebrating my last year in my 20s with my two favorite guys by my side!
